3-Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari with optional chimp tracking

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited national park with Bamboo Ecotours on a 3-day wildlife safari.

The 3-day safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park starts from Kisoro, Uganda/Bwindi Impenetrable National Park area and ends in Kampala city or Entebbe. The trip can also start from any location in Uganda. See below the proposed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer from Bwindi National Park to Ishasha sector, Queen Elizabeth National Park
Depart Kisoro town or Bwindi national park area very early in the morning (around 7 am) and head to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Join an afternoon game drive to spot the famous tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector. Afterward, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park at Mweya peninsula.

Along the drive to the Mweya peninsula, there is a chance to see the western rift valley escarpment, the Maramagambo forest, and the Rwenzori mountains. After arriving at the Mweya peninsula or nearby Kasenyi plains, check-in at the preferred accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The recommended midrange accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park is the Bush Lodge and Buffalo Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Kasenyi game drive and Kazinga channel boat trip at Queen Elizabeth National Park
Before sunrise, you will go for a game drive in the park to search for predators and nocturnal wildlife after the busy night looking for game/prey. Expect species such as elephants, buffaloes, side stripped jackals, hyenas, leopards, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, giant forest Hogs, and lions.

After lunch, you will take a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see many hippos and a variety of other animals, including buffalo, crocodiles, elephants, and various species of birds. The boat cruise will take about 2hrs.

Day 3: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park directly to Kampala/Entebbe
Day three will be the end of the 3-day wildlife safari. You will depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive to Kampala city or Entebbe via Mbarara city, with a planned stopover at the Equator crossing. The drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala should take between 7hrs. Before setting for Kampala, it is possible to track chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest Reserve.
