Uganda Gorilla Permit Prices for July 2024 to June 2026
Uganda Wildlife Authority has announced a new conservation tariff for the period July 2024 to June 2026. The new conservation tariff is an update to the 2022-2024 tariff.
The notable changes to the new tariff for 2024-2026 are:
- The price for a gorilla permit has been increased from USD700 to USD800 for Foreign Non-Residents. Foreign residents in Uganda will pay $700 for a gorilla permit. Citizens of the East African Community will pay UGX300,000 for a gorilla permit.
- The price for a gorilla habituation permit at Bwindi National Park remains at $1,500 for Foreign Non-Residents. Foreign residents in Uganda will pay $1,000 for a gorilla habituation permit. Citizens of the East African Community will pay UGX750,000 for a gorilla habituation permit.
- The price for a chimp permit for Kibale National Park is now $250, an increase from $200. And a chimpanzee habituation permit for Kibale National Park is now $300 from the previous $250.
Unlike the 2022-2024 tariff, the 2024-2026 tariff provides a price for the Rest of Africa (ROA) citizens, basically countries outside the East African Community block. The ROA citizens will pay $500 for the gorilla permit and $1,000 for a gorilla habituation permit.
The new conservation tariff will apply to all purchases for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits scheduled for trekking from 1st July 2024.
