The one day gorilla trekking safari from Kabale town & Lake Bunyonyi takes you to Bwindi National Park gorilla in southwestern Uganda to encounter the majestic mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking can be done at Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija gates of Bwindi National Park. It is also possible to trek the gorillas at Buhoma park headquarters in Kanungu district.

Itinerary for one day gorilla trek while staying at Lake Bunyonyi

A Bamboo Ecotours representative will meet you at the hotel in Kabale town very early in the morning and drive southwards to Bwindi National Park. Alternatively, book your accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi, and a Bamboo Ecotours staff will pick you up from Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Bwindi National Park.

The drive from Kabale town or Lake Bunyonyi to Bwindi National Park is approximately 2hrs. Upon arrival at Bwindi, you will get a short briefing from the park rangers on what to expect during the gorilla trek. You will then start the tour and enter the impenetrable forest to encounter the mountain gorillas. You will spend one hour with the gorillas and afterward head to the basecamp. You will immediately drive back from the trailhead to Kabale town or Lake Bunyonyi for overnight.
